After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, our van will pick you up at 8:00 am to begin the day's activities. Our first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where you can learn about the incredible life of Uncle Ho and pay your respects to him. We will also visit the Presidential Palace and his residential place.
Our next stop is the nearby Temple of Literature, which was built in the twelfth century and was the site of Vietnam's first university. Here, you can learn about Confucius's theory and even enjoy a traditional music performance.
For lunch, we'll head to a local restaurant for a taste of authentic Hanoi Pho, a delicious noodle soup. In the afternoon, you can choose to visit one of the numerous museums or temples around Hanoi, such as the Museum of Ethnology, Women's Museum, History Museum, or Quan Thanh Temple.
Later in the afternoon, we'll take a relaxing stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and explore Hanoi's fascinating Old Quarter. Here, you can enjoy some great shopping and try some street-side traditional food, like the famous "Hanoi bia." Wake up early in the morning to witness a beautiful sunrise and breathe in the fresh ocean air. The boulevards lined with trees and riverfront promenades that remain from previous eras are now bustling with activity, with motorcycles darting in and out of traffic, vendors selling their wares, and locals going about their daily routines. Begin your tour with a visit to the Royal Palace, which is still the official residence of King Norodom Sihamoni, and the adjacent Silver Pagoda, also known as the Pagoda of the Emerald Buddha. Gain an insight into Cambodia's cultural heritage as you explore these sites.
Next, head to the National Museum, an elegant building that houses a vast collection of Khmer art. Afterward, venture out to one of the city's two major markets, the Central Market, housed in a unique Art Deco building (though currently under construction, it can still be visited), or the sprawling Russian Market, a labyrinthine complex of stalls selling everything from DVDs and CDs to crafts, silk, and jewelry.
In the afternoon, take an excursion to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, located just outside of Phnom Penh. This serene, rural area is a somber reminder of the atrocities that occurred during the Pol Pot regime between 1975 and 1978. Thousands of individuals were executed and buried in mass graves on these grounds.
Finally, visit the Tuol Sleng Museum (Museum of Genocide), previously the Tuol Svay Prey High School, which was transformed into an interrogation and torture facility by the Khmer Rouge regime in 1975, known as Security Prison 21 or S-21. The prison has been largely preserved, showcasing photographs and exhibits that provide a glimpse into the thousands of individuals who passed through its doors, with only seven surviving.

This morning, you will board a flight to Siem Reap, where you will begin your tour of the Small Circuit. This tour includes several important sites, such as the enormous pyramid of Takeo and the jungle-covered Ta Prohm, which was famously featured in the Hollywood movie Tomb Raider. Next, you will visit Sras Srang, also known as the King's bathing pond, and Banteay Kdei, before exploring Prasat Kravan, an elegant brick temple.
After a well-deserved lunch break, you will continue your exploration by visiting the impressive Royal City of Angkor Thom. Here, you will find the Bayon, a temple known for its numerous gigantic carved faces smiling down at you. You will also visit other important sites in this vast walled city, such as the pyramid of Baphuon, Phimeanakas, and the royal viewing stands known as the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.
