After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a tour of Angkor Wat - the crowning jewel of Khmer architecture. This iconic temple is a national symbol and the highlight of any visit to Cambodia. With its impressive scale and beautifully proportioned layout, visitors are awed by the delicate artistry of its carvings. You will start by crossing the vast moat, continuing along a broad causeway lined with naga balustrades, before entering the main building. Inside, you will ascend through a series of galleries and courtyards before reaching the central sanctuary, which provides stunning views back over the causeway and surrounding countryside. Be sure to stop along the way to admire the intricate stone carvings that adorn nearly every surface. You'll find some 1,700 Apsaras, or celestial dancers, sculpted into the walls. The outer gallery walls feature the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which depicts stories from Hindu mythology, including the famous Churning of the Ocean of Milk. Angkor Wat is breathtaking at any time of day, but sunrise and sunset are especially beautiful times to watch the play of light on the stones.
Next, you'll visit Ta Prohm, one of the most popular attractions of Angkor. This temple is unique because much of the jungle has not been cleared, giving it an almost mystical atmosphere. It looks very much as the Angkor monuments would have appeared when European explorers first stumbled across them.
You will also visit Banteay Srei Temple, which is smaller than the other Angkor temples but is considered to be the jewel of classical Khmer art. Built in pink sandstone, the walls are covered in exquisitely preserved carvings of unusual delicacy. Visitors often appreciate this temple for its fairy-like atmosphere and extraordinary examples of Khmer sculpture.
After a day of exploring, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and an overnight stay in Siem Reap.

Continuing your visit, you will arrive at the TERRACE OF THE ELEPHANTS and the TERRACE OF THE LEPER KINGS, former spaces for public ceremonies, both adorned with dramatic bas reliefs. You will then visit the ruined BAPHUON, ROYAL ENCLOSURE, and PHIMEANAKAS before continuing to the mysterious BAYON TEMPLE.
